Building Essential Skills is about helping people in the construction industry to improve their reading, writing, maths and language skills - (Basic Skills).

TRAINING SUPPORT

The Building Essential Skills project promotes the improvement of numeracy, literacy and language skills through the support it can give to the delivery of typical construction training workshops.

During the past 3 years, the project has supported over 3,000 individuals to identify and satisfy their basic skills needs.

Over 250 employers have benefited from support and funding which the project has provided through its contact with the Learning and Skills Council and European Social Fund.

Do you need to take the health and safety test to obtain a CSCS card?

Building Essential Skills is working with a number of training providers in the Eastern region to provide free workshops to help employees in the construction industry to pass the health and safety test in order to obtain the CSCS card’.
